What your Statistics page says about you
I wanted to make sure everyone playing ClueDay can see how they have been doing over time, since it is something I like doing in games I play myself. I love to analyze how I have improved, track streaks or just spend time looking at numbers. Now you can too!
The main six tracked numbers
- Played: every case you attempted, wins and losses together. Try to match it to the total number of available words.
- Solve Rate: the share of those attempts where you found the word of the day.
- Avg Clues: how many clues you needed to solve the word of the day.
- Avg Time: your average solve time. You can go in Settings to see the timer while doing it. I personally don't compete on time but I know some of you like competition, so this one is for you xD
- Current Streak: consecutive days played.
- Best Streak: the longest run you have managed so far.
Clue Trend
You can see your last thirty cases as a line graph. One clue sits at the bottom and six at the top, so a line going up means you are needing more help and going down means you are getting better (or the words are getting easier, maybe?). Green dots are cases you solved and orange ones are cases you missed. Hover any point and it shows you the answer.
I thought this one would be kind of cool. It's not as if we need to get the line graph going downward (you can try), but the words are independent so I do not anticipate that happening!
Clue Efficiency
I'm ideating another word for Efficiency, but the premise is to see how your solves spread across one clue through five, plus the Unsolved tag at the bottom.
If your bars are at one and two that means you are reading opening clues pretty well, you could go into settings and turn on Expert Mode.
On the Clock
Your fastest solve and your average solve. The average is calculated from all the cases you have solved, so it is a good indicator of how you are doing overall. The fastest solve is a fun one to try and beat!
On the Board
I've kept this one towards the end because it's the only section that compares you to other people. It has your last thirty cases on the leaderboard: your average position and your best finish. As much as we should be improving ourselves against our own past performance, competition is a necessary part of life.
Cases Solved
Finally, there is a bar showing how many of every case ever released you have solved, and underneath it the calendar heatmap. The more ClueDay becomes a habit the more greens you'll see on the calendar.
