How to Play ClueDay

ClueDay publishes one set of clues a day: a single six-letter English word with five clues attached, ordered hardest to easiest. You see the first clue only. Every wrong guess reveals the next one, so you have five guesses and five clues, and the aim is to need as few of them as possible.

  1. Decode the Clue. Read the first clue and guess a 6-letter word it could point to. Each day = 1 word + 5 clues. Common words only, no proper nouns.
  2. Guess and Solve. Keep unlocking clues as you make the wrong guesses. You get 5 clues to uncover the mystery word of the day and solve it.
  3. Feedback Colors. Green means the letter is in the right place. Orange means the letter is in the word but in the wrong place.

Answers are common words. There are no proper nouns. The puzzle resets at local midnight, so everyone in a timezone gets the same word on the same day. Past clues stay playable at the archive.
